Bill Barnwell lays
out some of the available bets on the Super Bowl, including the "Will there be a safety"
bet he blew last year. Here's my favorite:
Will the 49ers score exactly four points?
Yes: +9999
No team in football history, to my knowledge, has scored exactly four
points in one NFL game. There's only one way to get there, and it
requires scoring two safeties without producing even one additional
point the rest of the way. The Falcons were only one additional safety
away from doing this to the Giants in the playoffs last year! I don't
know what the true odds for this one should be, but you can probably add
another nine to the end of that line and still be safe.
Seriously, who's going to bet on that?
