St. Catherine Laboure experiences a vision of the Blessed Virgin standing on a globe, crushing a serpent with her feet, and emanating rays of light from her hands.I wondered in grade school why the statues of Mary in every room had her standing on a globe with a snake under her feet (I got the reference to Eve). Mystery solved.
