Stay Thirsty, with Ramon A. Dominguez aboard, captures the Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct. A very fortunate owner:
If Uncle Mo is considered the top contender for the Kentucky Derby, you had better consider Stay Thirsty as well, as the 3-year-old drew off in the lane to take Saturday's $250,000 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct by 3-1/4 lengths.Uncle Mo is expected to race Saturday either at Gulfstream in the Timely Writer, or in the Tampa Bay Derby at Tampa Bay Downs.
"At the end of the day I'm lucky and blessed to have two of the top six horses in the country, in my opinion, as 3-year-olds," said Queens product Mike Repole, who owns both Uncle Mo and Stay Thirsty. "One out of 10 is a miracle, two out of six is unexplainable, unimaginable."
