Happy Patriots' Day

Statue of the Lexington Minuteman on the Lexington Green in Lexington, Massachusetts

It's Patriots' Day, the Red Sox play Toronto at 11:05 and the Boston Marathon kicks off soon.  The commemoration at Lexington Green already went off, and they are about ready to have the reenactment at the Old North Bridge in Concord.  Tomorrow is the 236th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and "the Shot Heard 'Round the World" that didn't involve Bobby Thomson.

The first of four engravings by Amos Doolittle from 1775. Doolittle visited the battle sites and interviewed soldiers and witnesses. Contains controversial elements, possibly inaccuracies. Fire from the militia may have occurred but is not depicted.

Note to Michele Bachmann: This occurred in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire.
