The Canucks would be the first Canada-based team to win the cup since the Canadiens won in 1992-93. I would guess that would start a very large party up north.
If the Canucks win the Stanley Cup, it will only be because they have two Swedish superstars who their coach lets play like Swedes and doesn't insist they dumb down to Hoser standards. Poor Don Cherry must be SO disgusted!
I mean, did you see Henrick Sedin the other night dishing out assists like it was a practice game?
I haven't caught much of either Conference Finals series, but from the highlights I've seen, the Canucks are looking pretty tough. I'm guessing the folks up north will be able to put up with Swedish style hockey to have a Canadian team bring back the Cup.
I guess they'll probably celebrate having the Thrashers moving to Winnipeg also.
